A Beginner’s Guide To Buying WISE Token

Before we get started you will need a few things to purchase WISE Token:

1. The Google Chrome Browser (if you’re using a computer)
2. A MetaMask Wallet (which you can download on your phone or install as an Extension on Google Chrome)

Buying WISE Token is going to be a 5 step process:

• Creating Your MetaMask Wallet
• Getting Ethereum (ETH) — UPDATE
• Adding WISE to your MetaMask Wallet
• Buying WISE on Uniswap
• Staking your WISE Tokens

1. CREATING YOUR METAMASK WALLET

In order to hold WiseToken you will need a MetaMask crypto wallet. These are very easy to set up.

What you’ll need:

• Pen and Paper

MetaMask is a browser extension and you can learn how to install it on your browser here or by watching this quick video:

Make sure you write down your SEED PHRASE and keep it somewhere safe. If you lose this seed phrase, you lose your whole wallet and everything in it. There is no customer support line to call to recover it.

PIN YOUR WALLET TO YOUR BROWSER

In the top right corner of your Chrome browser you will see a puzzle piece icon:

Click on it and look for the MetaMask icon (a fox face), and click the pin icon next to it so it turns blue.

You should now see the MetaMask icon in your browser toolbar.

2. GETTING ETHEREUM

WISE Token can be purchased using a digital currency called Ethereum (ETH). There are many ways to get ETH some are quicker and more expensive, and others are cheaper but take longer for your Ethereum to be available to be used to buy Wise token. Here some of those ways:

UPDATE: There is now a way to buy WISE Directly through your bank account through the Dharma App (if you are using a phone)

Buying WISE Through Dharma — (May only be available in certain areas)

Note: While this route will allow you to purchase WISE pretty immediately, you will have to wait about 5 days to stake it

What you’ll need:

• A photo ID
• Your Bank Login Information

1. In your phone click this link to download the app Dharma
2. Set up your account
3. Verify your ID (may take anywhere from 2 min to a few hours)
4. Connect your bank account
5. Tap the shopping cart icon on the bottom Nav Bar

6. In the top search bar type “Wise”

7. Scroll through the listings and select the Wise Token with the Token Address “0x66a0f676…8bff5bd6” (make sure the price of the token looks right to confirm you have selected the correct token)

9. Tap “Buy” and fill out the amount you want to purchase (note: the network fee will fluctuate depending on how many transactions are taking place globally)

10. Tap “Preview Buy”

Note: There is a message on the screen that will tell you how long it will take for you to be able to transfer your WISE. You will want to transfer your WISE to your MetaMask after that amount of time in order to stake it.

11. If everything looks good tap “Continue”

12. Repeat this process again to buy some Ethereum (ETH) as you will need Ethereum to stake your WISE in step 5.

13. When your WISE is available to transfer, come back here and continue to STEP 3.

Buy ETH In MetaMask (Immediate and expensive) Max. Amount: $1,000

What you’ll need:

• A Debit Card
• Access to your online bank account

This option works in most places except for a list that you can find here

To buy in MetaMask you’ll click on the “BUY” button and choose the “Continue to Wyre” option. This will open up a new tab where you can enter the amount of ETH you want to purchase in USD. You may notice the ETH exchange rate to be a little higher than you can find elsewhere, but hey- that’s the price of getting it quickly.

Follow the steps on the screen to complete your purchase. (Note: at a certain point they may you to confirm part of the transaction number that you can find on your online banking transactions).

Once completed, the ETH will show up in your MetaMask Wallet.

Buy ETH In Coinbase (cheap and slow) Max. Amount: $750–$25000

What you’ll need:

• Bank Account Login Information (for slower $25,000 purchases)
• Debit Card (for faster $750 purchases)
• Government Issued ID
• Camera phone

Buying ETH in Coinbase can look quick, but it can take anywhere from a week to 20 days for your ETH to be available to send to another wallet (which is what we want to do).

1. Download CoinBase here.

2. Create your account and go through the process of confirming your identity.

3. Connect a payment method (if you use a bank account you can purchase more but it will take longer to “be available for send” which is what you want)

4. Confirm your debit card if you used one.

5. Click the “Buy” button and select ETH from the dropdown menu (it’s probably set to BTC or BitCoin)

6. Enter the amount you want to purchase (pay attention to if there’s a message of how long it will take for your ETH to be available to Send)

7. Wait for your ETH to be available to send — if it’s not already available, they will send you an Email reminder when your balance is available to send.

Once your ETH is available to send, you’ll want to send it to your MetaMask account so you can use it to purchase WISE.

8. Login to your Coinbase account and click Send/Receive

9. Make sure “Pay with” is set to Ethereum

10. Copy your MetaMask Account Address by clicking on the MetaMask icon in your browser toolbar and clicking where it says “Account 1”

11. Paste your MetaMask Address into the “To” field.

12. Click “Send all” to input the maximum amount of ETH you can send.

13. Click continue and follow the steps to complete the send.

14. Confirm the receipt of your ETH in your MetaMask wallet.

Buy ETH in Coinmama (quick and expensive) Max. Amount: $5,000

What you’ll need:

• Debit or Credit Card
• Government Issued ID
• Pen/Paper
• Camera
• Computer

This one has the longest, most complicated registration process and isn’t available in every state but you can buy high amounts of ETH (at a premium price) and have it sent directly into your MetaMask.

1. Create a Coinmama account (this will involve using your phone to take a photo of you holding your ID for identity confirmation).
2. Click “buy” and make sure ETH is selected.
3. Enter the amount you want to buy and click “buy”
4. Copy your MetaMask wallet address by clicking the MetaMask icon on your browser toolbar and then copy your wallet address by clicking where it says “Account 1”

5. Paste your wallet address into the “Ethereum wallet address” field (DO NOT click “Use ZenGo”)

6. Click “Go to Payment”

7. Choose your payment method, fill out your payment information and click “pay now”

8. Wait for confirmation email and confirm payment.

9. Check MetaMask for completed transfer (may take a few minutes)

10. Confirm receipt of ETH on Coinmama.

3. Add WISE Token To Your MetaMask Account

Now we’re going to add WISE Token as a viewable token in your wallet so when you purchase it you can see how much you have.

1. Copy this WISE Token address: 0x66a0f676479cee1d7373f3dc2e2952778bff5bd6
2. Click on your MetaMask icon
3. Make sure “Assets” is selected below the “Buy” button
4. Scroll town and click “Add Token”

4. Select “Custom Token”

5. Paste the WISE Token Address in the “Token Contract Address” field and click “Next”

6. Click “Add Tokens”

Note: It will say you have 0 Wise Tokens because we haven’t bought any yet.

IF YOU PURCHASED WISE THROUGH DHARMA DO THESE EXTRA STEPS FROM YOUR PHONE:

1. Go into your Dharma app and click on your WISE asset
2. Tap the Paper Airplane icon at the bottom to Send your WISE
3. Tap “Max” in the top right hand corner to send all of your WISE
4. Click on the MetaMask icon at the top of your Chrome Browser
5. Click the three vertical dots next to “Account 1” and select “account details”
6. On your phone, tap “Scan QR” in the Dharma app
7. Tap continue and complete the transaction to send your WISE to your MetaMask wallet.
8. Confirm the receipt of your WISE in your MetaMask wallet.
9. Repeat with your ETH balance in from your Dharma app.

NOTE: You can skip the next step and proceed directly to STEP 5

4. Buy WISE on Uniswap

1. Go to the WiseToken Website and click where it says “Now Trading On Uniswap” to make sure you’re going to the correct purchasing page. (Or click here if you trust me enough to use the hyperlink)
2. Click “I understand” and Continue
3. Enter the amount of ETH you want to spend to buy WISE (note: leave about .1 ETH remaining for gas prices that you have to pay for every transaction)
4. Click the button below to connect your wallet.
5. Connect your MetaMask wallet (make sure the correct account is selected)
6. Click “Swap”
7. A new window will appear with your MetaMask, check the Gas Fee. If it’s high (above $30) you might want to click “reject” and try again later. If you’re okay with the gas price, click Confirm.

Note: “Gas Fees” exist on all Ethereum transactions. During times of high trading congestion, those fees go up. If you want to see what the gas price currently is, click here — you’ll want to see the lowest number below 80

8. Wait for the transaction to go through. You should see an alert that says “Transaction Complete”

9. Check your MetaMask wallet to see your WISE Token Balance.

5. Stake Your WISE

Now it’s time to make your WISE work for you. When you stake your WISE, you’re creating a contract that says you will not touch your WISE for “x” Days and in return, you will get a portion of the inflation of newly minted Wise during that time as interest on your investment.

1. Click here to go to the WISE Token Website
2. Click the Orange button at the top to “Connect MetaMask”
3. The orange button will turn purple, hover your mouse over it and select “Stake WISE Tokens”

4. Select “Create Regular Stake (WISE)”

5. Input the amount of WISE you want to stake and type in how many days you want to stake it for. (Note: the dropdown menu for “DAYS” gives you options for 2–5 years).

6. Click “Create Regular Stake” and check the gas price on the MetaMask pop up.

7. If you are happy with the gas price, click “Confirm” if not, click “Reject” (Note: it’s important to click “Reject” and not just close out of the window or you can back up your MetaMask with old transactions).

8. Wait for the MetaMask Transaction to complete.

9. Celebrate! Click “done”.

10. Repeat for as many stakes as you want to make.

2. Why do I need to buy both ETH and WISE Token?

WISE is a token that is built on the Ethereum network. Ethereum is also a blockchain network as well as a currency (that we call ETH).

In order to transact on the network you need to pay network fees sometimes called “Gas fees” which allow your transactions to go through. Those are paid in ETH (or Ethereum as it’s sometimes called).

You will need some ETH for transactions — moving your tokens, staking, etc.

3. How can I sell my WISE Token?

You can sell any WISE token that is not staked using Uniswap to exchange it for ETH. Send the ETH from your MetaMask wallet to your Coinbase or any other Crypto wallet that is connected to your bank account.

4. What do I do when my WISE stake is complete?

Go back to the WISE Staking platform where you made your stakes and click the green check mark to mint your WISE into your MetaMask wallet (there will be a gas fee on this transaction).
